Vegan-friendly bakery options in West London have come a long way and although still a little behind other parts of London there are plenty of options to satisfy your baked good cravings. Here’s our round-up of the best spots from Belgravia to Ealing.

Dendara Bakery
Located a short walk from Kensington High Street you’ll find Dendara, a serene free-from bakery offering a brilliant selection of vegan cakes and bakes. Their holistic health ethos means all of their products are gluten-free, dairy-free, refined sugar-free and low sugar. Expect delightful middle-eastern inspired flavour combinations such as chocolate and tahini brownies, hibiscus tart with rose cream and a falafel tart with harissa & tahini drizzle. We are currently dreaming about their rice pudding tart…

Birley Bakery
Tucked away between Chelsea’s King’s Road and Fulham Road, you’ll find the beautiful space that is Birley Bakery. Vegan options include a chocolate cake, choc chip cookies and a mango and coconut slice. Seating is available inside and outside - perfect for a dose of people-watching. They also have a chocolate shop a few doors down - you’re welcome.

Reemies
A newer addition to the area, Reemies opened their first bricks and mortar store in March of this year, and lucky for us they have vegan versions of their famous banana bundt cakes on offer. Look out for the pretty pink and red storefront on Fulham Road.

Common Breads
If savoury is more your thing then head to Common Breads in Victoria. This bakery specialises in Lebanese flatbreads, freshly baked everyday with vegan filling options such as za’atar, mushroom shawarma and hummus & rose harissa carrots. It makes the perfect pit stop before catching a train or heading to St James’s Park for a picnic.

The Hummingbird Bakery
If you’re ever in need of a classic American-style frosted cupcake, The Hummingbird Bakery is the place to go. They have vegan versions of their vanilla and red velvet cupcakes, as well as a variety of larger cakes available to order. With three of their six stores being in Victoria, Notting Hill and South Kensington, West London is pretty well covered for cupcakes.

Revival Café
If you’re further West, Revival Café in Ealing has your back. Admittedly more of a café than a bakery per se, their pastry selection includes flaky pistachio croissants, fudgey brownies and cherry flaxseed danishes. Not only that, this spot is a fully plant-based café offering a whole array of vegan food and drink to enjoy.
106 South Ealing Rd, London, United Kingdom W5 4QJ

Parle Pantry Vegan Café
Over on Chiswick High Road you’ll find Parle Pantry Vegan Café, another all-vegan café where you can indulge in delicious pastries such as pains au chocolat, sausage rolls and potato boreks. They also have a selection of whole cakes available to order and the café menu features many more plant-based options to dive into when you pop in.

Buns from Home
Previously featured in our Central London Bakery edit, Buns from Home also have a number of branches across West London. Find them in Sloane Square, Victoria, Hammersmith, Notting Hill, Holland Park, as well as, many other destinations in across the capital. Specialising in flaky laminated buns, their freshly baked vegan cinnamon buns are very satisfying.

Harrods
On Harrods’s bakery and patisserie counters you will often find a number of plant-based options. Philip Khoury, vegan baking extraordinaire, previously headed up the Pastry department so it’s no wonder there is such a great plant-based legacy here. Definitely worth stopping by to see what seasonal options they have on offer.

Café de Nata
Another one also previously featured in our Central London Edit: Café de Nata. Specialising in the delectable Portuguese custard tarts, pasteis de nata, their South Kensington branch bakes vegan versions in-house throughout the day.
